MCN (page 13 of today's paper) is saying our forum is hacking and attacking peoples computers who visit here!

This is obviously rubbish....but what can be done about their slanderous comments in this weeks (05/09/2007-today's) edition of MCN (Motorcycle News) ?

Go to mcn news .com under contact us there is and email address and phone numbers on who to contact ,i haVE EMAILED AND advd that this is not fair to0 the members of the official forum i think everyone should email them.asap and let them know how we feel.

Am i missing something? It doesn't mention this site, it could just be that they are warning about other sites - this isn't the only one you find if you are looking on the net for anything about Valentino Rossi. I don't think its terrible that they are just giving a warning, or am i being naive?

I agree, it is very wrong of MCN to show the official fan club site in this article - while it does not specify that site as a problem it certainly suggests that to be the case - they should follow it up with big apology and an endorsement of the Official Site.
I will send an e-mail to MCN, too.

PS I have sent an e-mail to: Tony Carter tony.carter@emap.com wjo is head of News at MCN and who I have corresponded with before over rubbish printed about Vale.

Thanks for that - I can understand him investigating and wanting to know if any of us have experienced any problems with other sites ( I haven't as I don't have enough time once I have finished with this one).

I still don't think it is right that MCN have used a pic of the Official Fan Club site to try to make a point about dangerous sites. MCN should apologise in print and point out their error to their readers.

I agree with Jrcambs because it appears to me that this person is trying to justify himself by writing this letter now....if he was interested in knowing the true facts he would has asked these questions before the article was printed.

He is obviously attempting to cover his back in my opinion. He should be made to print a retraction of his article & stating that this Official Valentino web site (and the picture about the story being of our site only) is NOT hacking peoples computers as he suggested. He should put this right in the MCN along with the picture he has used already, so readers will be able to associate the misleading comments he made and the link to the image in the article. He should also by way of an apology print the web address to our site for the readers to know it is safe and not hacking peoples PC's as suggested in his article.
