it is funny. but its cool at the same time. too many americans (like me) don't get a taste of other people's culture around the world...
anyways, over here we either call them sweatshirts if they are casual... sweaters if they are dressier (usually wool or cashmere or nice fabric).... or "track jackets" if they are zip ups with half collars.
if you say "jumper" over here, it usually refers to a casual dress that women wear (although the term very 1980s)... like this
so if i get a valentino dress, i might be mad...
(but i might still wear it!)
