Riders for Health are pleased to announce that tickets for Day of Champions 2007 will go on sale at 9am on Monday 26 March.
This year’s Day of Champions takes place at Donington Park on Thursday 21 June. As those of you who have been before will know, it is a unique event in the world of sport and an experience not to be missed! Once again, you will be able to see behind the scenes of MotoGP, check out the race bikes up close, and enjoy the fantastic entertainment taking place throughout the day – including performances from World Superbike star James Toseland and his band Crash. And as ever, the climax to the day will be the famous live auction, with appearances from the MotoGP riders and other special guests.
There will also be the traditional ride-in from Coalville, led by racing legend Niall Mackenzie. The ride-in meets at the Victoria pub, where breakfast is included in the ticket price, and concludes with hundreds of bikers taking to the Donington tarmac for two parade laps of the famous track.

So, you would recommend this would you, Angela? I was thinking about it for His Lordship's birthday. How long would we expect to be there? Should I be taking the offspring. too?
I would really appreciate your advice.
GO! GO! GO!!!!! & you must take the kids too or they will never forgive you! If they are anything like my lot you will be left to stalk Valentino alone or with the 'other girls'....the males seem to do their own thing most of the day.....and you will be there quite some time.....the day usually starts at 10am and carries on until early evening....last year Vale never even got to go on the auction stage until about 6:30pm I think (...I may be wrong though) and the auction was not even half way through.
We tended to stroll around for a bit after the auction was over (OK we took a wrong turn...you know one of those short-cuts men know about, when trying to get out of the place and ended up doing a tour of the full bloody track before we managed to get out!!!)
The Day of Champions and Race Day are by far the best days to attend, if your not doing the full long weekend that is!
Take plenty of money.....you may say you don't intend to buy something but when you see it in the auction and other people keep on bidding against you then it's a very different thing altogether. & stuff isn't cheap either.....nothing goes for under £100 I don't think.....the average price of things being about the £500 mark but going up to £5000 just for one item, but if you ask me the stuff they sell is worth every penny, after all it's unique!!!
& take comfy shoes of wear trainers....& don't wear YELLOW! If you do you'll be sorry!!! (she says even though wearing yellow each year and swearing never to again!)
Take a cap & sunblock if it's sunny & an umbrella & rain coat if it's raining.....and remember whatever you take with you you'll have to carry all day long!
* I'm sure someone else will be able to give you a better idea of what to expect and what to take with you if you do decide to go on the Day of Champions........I ordered my tickets earlier today!!!!!

Can i ask why you said dont wear yellow?
Valentino Rossi! The Doctor! The Greatest Motorcycle racer in the world
The place is swarming with horrible little flying beetle things that are attracted to yellow (& blonde hair for that matter ) If you wear yellow you'll be spending the whole day long trying to knock them off you...and I'm not talking 1 or 2.....it's more like 100's - honestly .... and they're at the track EVERY year too....so they'll be there on the race day too!
BTW ....Insect repellent doesn't work on them either...I'm sure they're attracted to the stuff by the way I got swamped by the evil little things last year!

Yep, I suffered from the donnington beetle last year as well on my new yellow and Black 46 tee shirt and cap. The only yellow object without being covered in them was Vale because he was going to fast , even with a broken wrist
