There have been posts under "Fan Experiences" regarding Indy, but I am opening up the thread here, following in line with the rest of the venues.

Rossi raises concerns about Indianapolis
Valentino Rossi will raise concerns about the new Indianapolis circuit at the MotoGP Safety Commission meeting tomorrow following the first official test at the American circuit last week.
Test riders from all teams were in action at the historic circuit, which is scheduled to hold its first MotoGP event later this year.
But with some worries about the tight layout and track surface, Rossi has said that some action may be needed before the event.
"The information about Indianapolis is not very positive, because they saw four or five corners which are very, very tight," Rossi told reporters in Germany.
"Especially the biggest problem is that there are three or four different types of tarmac with a different amount of grip. So all the riders complained about that.
"We will speak about Indianapolis tomorrow at the Safety Commission because (safety representative Franco) Uncini also was at Indianapolis. I spoke to him on the telephone and he said they are not very happy about the conditions. So we'll try to fix it."
Rossi also suggested that the layout of the track is also being looked at, with the close proximity of concrete walls of big concern,
"I've never been there, but they modified the last corner and Nicky (Hayden) was there. They tried to make the hairpin slower to avoid the risk (of hitting the wall) in case of a crash. But I don't know if it's enough. But we'll speak tomorrow to understand better." le Mans 2003, Estoril 2007 , Indy 2008 TURTLE POWER !!!!! Thank you for posting this, Ruslan. I was hoping something would come up about the track in regard to the issues Vale raises. Why the test riders said it was okay baffled me! | | Senior Sergeant First Class | | Posts: 410 Join Date: 20.12.2007 Location: malaysia Age: 28

But still, if they're willing to look for a better solutions in safety issues I think it will settled then. Will they? 2 years of disappoinment? NO MORE...... | | Second Lieutenant | | Posts: 1,290 Join Date: 06.06.2007 Location: Not where I want to be :-)

My search has revealed nothing, Darryl. I was thinking maybe Vale would make a visit to the track, since he was, so to speak, "in town" so that he could have a hands-on look. And I now subscribe to the Indy Track news, or whatever it is called, hoping they would keep us abreast about the track; but so far it is about, yuck, cars! | | Top Second Lieutenant | | Posts: 1,839 Join Date: 21.05.2007 Location: Gold Coast Australia

Indy will always be about cars no matter how many bike races they have there. Its a car track and smack in the middle of Nascar Country. Ugh, I hate Nascar. Laguna makes sense to have a race there. The Laguna history of bike racing is long and distinguished. Indy? Not so much. I wouldn't mind going to see it but since Laguna is only two hours from me and we get some nice perks, I will stick with it. LOL
