Default What If Vale Had Never Tried Bridgestone - 17.04.2008, 14:28

At first .... I have a little bit regret with the decision Vale moved to Bridgestone ... watching Pedrosa and even Lorenzo easily lapped faster than Vale.

BUT THERE IS BUT MY FRIEND

What if Vale never tried bridgestone.
1. Michelin will stay bad. They getting better because Vale moved to Bridgestone and they felt threatened. If Vale not moved to Bridgestone....they will still relax and not as good as now. 2 years waiting is over.
2. When Vale retire....he will retire with full of curiosity. Is KC that good?
3. ***** *******

So Vale moved to Bridgestone is 100% CORRECT!!!!!!
Vale made right decision!!!!!

Yeah I think he mabd the right decision too although people thought he would be on the pace from start without thinking that it was a new experience and challenge for vale. He has made significant progress with them and when everything is in order and he has found his rythm with them then we will see the mistro at his best.

Only the memories from last year`s race in Brno are enough to erase all regrets. Of course this season the situation is a bit different, but I still think Bridgestone move was a good decision. We have 15 races to go, so no negative thoughts please

Vale's decision was not an overnight thought. He sure had thought it out thorougly before making that move. It's just 3 races and both parties are working well for each other and eventhough Vale still hasn't got to be on the top stairs of the podium, we can see that there's progress in this relationship. Bridgestone is putting all their effort in developing whatever that will do good to their riders and so far after 3 races, the attention seems to be with Vale compared to other bridgestone shod riders. He'll be there soon and I'm sure of it.

Yeah, without a doubt he made the right decision to change to Bridgestone. Look at what Michelin had done for him in the last 2 seasons. Did he owe them anything? No.

There was always going to be the chance that Michelin would eventually get their act together and improve.

That became an even greater risk when Vale chose Bridgestones instead of their tyres.

That was one hell of a slap in the face for them, a huge wake-up call and I would guess that as soon as they knew Vale would be leaving them they had to set about doing something pretty impressive.

This season Michelin knew that they had to be right there from the first race with something truly amazing - the alternative would be utter disgrace in the world of motorcycle racing.

If Vale had stayed they would not have had that incentive (they already had the likes of KC saying that tyres did not come into it) and I am sure that while they may have improved to a degree there would not have been the huge frantic push that there clearly was over the winter-break.

So, the difference between the tyre companies is not so great and that is one of the factors last year that made many of the races boring processions.

Clearly moving to a new tyre manufacturer was going to present problems. That was a known from the start and yet already Vale has been on the podium twice - at tracks where it was KNOWN the Bridgestone tyres would struggle.

Vale made the best decision for him.

Vale made the best decision for MotoGP.

Rossi reckons Lorenzo's Michelin tyres were better suited for Estoril than his Bridgestones, but the Italian still believes he can turn his fortunes around.
"I hope so, because the bike is quick: Lorenzo didn't win by chance," Rossi told Gazzetta dello Sport. "This time around we had to defend ourselves and we did it well. We'll now wait for the moment to attack. Shanghai is a very different track, we can do well.
"With the way the Bridgestones are, this type of surface is not great. The tyres were sliding a bit too much in the race. In fact, it was me winning here last year with the Michelins.
"Michelin should go better at Mugello, but the situation is constantly evolving. In the test we'll have more things to try out and let's hope we can further improve."
Rossi decided to switch to Bridgestone tyres for this season after being unhappy with the performance of Michelin last year.
The seven-time champion admitted he has been surprised by the French manufacturer's improvement.
"To be honest, the real change is the step forward Michelin has done in such a short time. I didn't expect it, and it gives me a lot of doubts regarding the treatment we received last year.
"Maybe they took a one-year vacation. But I don't regret having decided to switch. The math is done at the end."

I think Vale has made the right choice for sure, without a doubt.

If he wins the championship then yes, if he finishes behind someone on Michelin, no.

I agree. And if turns out that Lorenzo wins the title it will go down in history as a huge mistake.

if if if if.....

It's a no-win situation, don't you think?

Could be a winner year , could be a disaster.. Same could be if he had stayed with Michelin.. He had to change..

So many things, so many question.. Would have Michelin improved so much within a short period without Vale leaving them? Or were they already "recovering" from their misery and Vale has made a wrong decision? Has Michelin improved a lot?

People were saying Vale behaved like a spoilt brat wanting his new toy.. I don't think so.. He dared to switch and I give him credit for that. Knowing him if he can't make it this year, he will take all the blame for it.

What would you have done in his situation?
