Okay, I shouldn't have said "only".
But that was not a reason to say it was "ridiculous".

I won't say that your vision is "short sighted" because you forgot other elements in the equation (such as new tire rule, new Michelin policy this year...)

Michelin was going to improve greatly this year with or without Rossi. His leaving obviously gave them extra incentive but to think their tires would be crap if he stayed is just crazy.Michelin always worked in a small window when looking at track temp. and the tire rule hurt them in regard to this. They had to work on that and it was not an overnight fix.It took them longer than most people thought it should have but they were making improvements last year. OK even taking in to account '06 and '07 if a Michelin shod Yamaha wins the title this year the history books will say the switch was a mistake, simple as that.Rossi did what he thought was best for him and you can't fault him for that. But the people that write it down will call it a mistake. But at this point nothing is decided so all of this is just BS to throw around between races.

rossi has took a calculated risk rather than a gamble and hopefully he has done his homework right i trust his judgement, the yamaha was a calculated risk he thought he could develop that bike enough, and have enough skill to make it so, im sure he feels the same about the bridgestones,I believe he can do it this year , but it wont be a walk in the park , make no error casey will come into play!

I personally don't care about the judgement of people who only read the last chapter of a story and not the entire book.

I'm not a clone of JP Weber.
I did not forget that Vale won 5 titles on Michelin tyres.
And I won't forget the last 2 seasons.

I don't think any history book will say quite simply that Vale jumped tyre manufacturer and it was the wrong decision. Any mention of that will be backed up with the reasons behind that decision - think back, it was a BIG issue that caused a LOT of discussion. If anything gets into the history books it will be the whole sorry tale.

Who knows... there may be a "What if I had never tried it" part II someday...

Nice little article in MCN this week.
In an interview with Vale they asked him how he feels about the big steps forward made by Michelin over the winter.
"Michelin wasted our time in 2007. They took us for a ride. The potential of Michelin is good. I think they are putting in more than double the money of last year. And they started to work only when Carmelo Expeleta said 'OK, go. We'll go with Bridgestone'. From that moment they start to work."

And why was Mr Ezpeleta forced to make that threat?

I will post the rest when I get chance.

Guys, don't worry. The time will come and Vale will be there. Bridgestone won't let Michelin run away easily and take the WC from them.
