just read this on crash........

Valentino Rossi has revealed that MotoGP riders will meet to discuss the possibility of a protest in support of Tibet at next month's Chinese Grand Prix.

"All the world is with Tibet," Reuters reports Rossi as saying. "But we need to be careful, or else they will arrest all of us."

China's reaction to protests within Tibet has prompted demonstrations around the world and caused chaos during the Olympic torch relay.

"I am 100 percent behind Tibet. We know that to demonstrate against the Chinese regime is dangerous but we will see if we can do something," added Loris Capirossi.

Rossi previously made his thoughts clear regarding the invasion of Iraq, by wearing a special rainbow helmet to ask for 'peace not war' in early 2003.

What the h!!! I had problems accessing the motogp.com website and couldn't follow what happened... Can someone shortly clear me out what happened during practice 1??? Because I was stunned when I finally could acces the LT on the website. Did it rain or so??? What the hell with Team Tech 3??? What the hell with pedrosa?? There are even some riders that only made 5/5 laps, like De Angelis!!??

The track was still wet, don't think it was actually raining as the speed seemed to have picked up towards the end so I assume the track was getting drier.
No idea what was wrong with de Angelis.
As for Tech3, new engines and all, you gotta get used to them

Rossi aims to end win drought at scene of last victory

Wednesday, 09 April 2008
Currently on a six-race run without an appearance on the top step of the podium, his longest since his debut MotoGP win in 2000, Valentino Rossi this weekend returns to the scene of his last victory as he arrives at Estoril for the bwin.com Grande Premio de Portugal.

Currently on a six-race run without an appearance on the top step of the podium, his longest since his debut MotoGP win in 2000, Valentino Rossi this weekend returns to the scene of his last victory as he arrives at Estoril for the bwin.com Grande Premio de Portugal.
A first podium following his move onto Bridgestone tyres at Jerez was highly positive result for him and his team, after he was outfoxed in the final laps of the season-opening race at Losail International which saw him pushed back into fifth place by MotoGP rookie Andrea Dovizioso.
Heading to one of his happiest hunting grounds for round three, Rossi will now want to end his winless streak and score his first Bridgestone victory this weekend in Portugal.
Estoril has been on the calendar since 2000 and Rossi has the best record of any World Championship competitor at the Portuguese track, having won five times and having never finished off the podium there.
The 29 year-old star hopes to round that win figure up to a half dozen on Sunday as he targets a repeat of his hard-fought victory at the circuit last September.
`Estoril last year was a great race, it was a fantastically close battle with Dani Pedrosa and one of the high points of the season for us,´ stated Rossi. `It´s also the last time I won a race and I hope that this is something we can repeat again this time.´
`Jerez was a very important race for us, second place in just our second race with Bridgestone and following the difficult result in Qatar it was very important, plus it gave confidence to everyone involved that our package is really coming together,´continued the Italian.
Looking forward to the third GP of 2008 the five-time MotoGP World Champion noted, `Portugal is usually a good track for us and I´ve had a lot of very good races there, especially with Yamaha. It´s a different time of year to when we raced there last year so the conditions might be a little different, but I think that we´re going to be ready for anything!´
Meanwhile, Davide Brivio, Rossi´s team manager at Fiat Yamaha commented, `We have good memories of Estoril because it is the scene of Valentino´s last victory, but we are actually expecting this Grand Prix to be quite tough for us. Anyway, Valentino likes the track and we go there on the back of a good race at Jerez and a very positive test so our intention is to fight.´
