whats up with all the NEGATIVITY and PESSIMISM on here?? I saw vale right after the race (fuorigiri).....he was everything else than crying/whining. yeah sure he pointed out that they need to work out a few things with the bike, but overall he's ok with today. ok didn't win, surely he wouldve liked to, who wouldnt? but...he was quite confident, and smiling. I'm sure it's gonna be on youtube in no time, then see for yourselfes!
positive thinking! he said he likes people who think positive like JB....let's be like that, too! wtf is up with "he can go to superbikes" just cuz he finished 5th in the first (night-) race??? come on people.....*shakes head*
I say, well done Vale!!! He fought alot for what was possible! *clap* He made the race EXCITING (note how they showed vale all the time, instead of lorenzo/stoner or anyone else).......THATs still why we love motogp, no? HE BRINGS IT! :D :D :D

Personally I thought Vale did a wonderful job fending off the others so well and for so long too! Who else could pull that off in such a way? Mind you Lorenzo did do well keeping Stoner behind him for so long....my hat's off to him for that!! Dani did well also.....yes Vale was slowing up the other riders a lot of the time but they had the right to overtake him...just so happens that they couldn't, simply couldn't match Valentino on the brakes (God he's good on those brakes that's for sure!!!) Dovi did well but to put it simply he was bloody lucky to reach the line fractions of a second before Vale did. James Toseland rode the race of his life in my opinion, new to the MotoGP (not just new to the higher class like the other rookies) he's new to the bike and new to the tires, so the underdog in every sense of the word....and he could battle with Valentino - what a guy!!! Great job James!!!! Stoner did well - credit when it's due and all that! Even Casey appeared surprised after the race when they interviewed him at Parc Ferme...well let's face it his bike did need to be pushed there because it had run out of petrol! It looks to me as if Casey gambled with the fuel mapping, keeping it low at the first half of the race and using it up on the last half of the race....chancing not even finishing the race. Well the gamble paid off and Casey got the points. Well done Casey!!! I'm really pleased how Valentino rode the race and kept the other riders behind him for so long, knowing only too well they had a much better race pace than he did....in my opinion the man is a total genius to have managed it so well and for so much of the race too. I enjoyed watching every bit of Vale's race tactics.....I mean can you get any later on those brakes???? I think not!!! VALENTINO....Congratulations on a brilliant performance at Losail! Now bring on Jerez!!!! Angela O from Liverpool-England XXXXxxxxxx (first registered 30/9/2002) | | Recruit | | Posts: 1 Join Date: 10.03.2008

hi all, this is my first post here.
I'd like to say few words bout last night race.
Sure things doesn't work the way we have wanted,
and that Vale wasn't able to win or even defend his position.
The problem with the bike and tyres still unsolved yet,
and there still a mountain to climb that is to reach the Stoner-Ducati performance.
All in all I beleive Vale and the whole team will fight with all they can,
and i just wanna say , hey guys I'm with you all,
keeep on fighting keep on working,
there must be a solution , and that's our aim.
I'm supporting as a fan, and hope vale will gain the better performance for the next races.
Long way to go, lot of things to do, just count our support as a motivation,
isn't that what we are for as fans.
The only good news is i think Vale has made the right decision to switch to Bridgestone, it's the right tyre , just that they haven't found the best use of it, surely things will go on the right way, hope soon
go Vale go Yamaha Racing

calm down guys.. this is just the first race.. this is what we've waiting for along this time. so I myself do enjoy it much. yeah more on the first half. but everyone did great. toseland, dani, vale, even dovi.. I think he wouldn't have much courage to pass vale again, but he did it.. young boys! but I'm glad if vale's looked fine. I'm agree with LeJ, what's important is we always know that vale would try harder on developing everything he need for the rest of the season..Go! | | Senior First Lieutenant | | Posts: 2,546 Join Date: 04.07.2007 Location: **In KC's nightmares** Age: 37

Valentino Rossi finished a disappointing fifth tonight, after
struggling for pace on the cold track throughout the 22 lap race.
Racing on Bridgestone tyres for the first time, Rossi made up two
places on the opening lap and for the first few laps looked like he might be
a contender for the top spots as he picked his way through the field.
On lap five he took the lead and held onto it for three laps, but he
was unable to ride his M1 as he wanted to and surrendered first place to
Casey Stoner just three laps later. It was downhill for the Italian
from then on as his pace dropped off and he began to slip back, unable to
keep up with the leaders. Dani Pedrosa passed him for third and Rossi
eventually became embroiled in a close battle for fourth with Andrea
Dovizioso, with the rookie eventually running out the winner by just a
fraction of a second.
Valentino Rossi - Position: 5th Time: +13.305
"We expected a difficult race here, but actually not as difficult as
this! We haven't been fast here in Qatar since last week's night test
but, despite this, I thought we might be able to fight for the podium.
Tonight however it was really difficult and now we have to understand the
reason for this result. After five or six laps I started doing 56.4 and
56.5 and from then on I couldn't improve on that pace until the end. I
was very fast in braking, but not so fast in the corners. We know that
we can make our Bridgestone tyres work better than this, because they
are winning tyres and tonight they showed it once again. Throughout the
winter, at all tracks, we were very fast and this is the only one
where we were not. Now our task is to understand why this happened. We had
a couple of ideas to try but in the end we decided to stick to what we
know because we need some more time to understand how to improve and
how to be faster. We know we can do better than this and so we just need
to gather all the information and use it in the best way for the next
race. Finally I want to say congratulations to Lorenzo for a great debut
tonight; honestly I'm not surprised because I knew he was fast and
talented, but he did very well tonight in a hard race so well done to
him."

"This was our first experience of a night race and it's been clear that
the low track temperatures make controlling the tyre situation quite
difficult. Added to that the low air temperatures mean that fuel
consumption is also a worry. We spent a lot of time working with Bridgestone
to try to find a good package but unfortunately we couldn't do enough
tonight. Now we need to investigate exactly what's happened and act on it
before the next race." | | BANNED | | Posts: 4,986 Join Date: 17.01.2007 Location: Cambridgeshire

The next day, having slept on it. That was a BRILLIANT race. Some brillliant overtaking moves and some equally brilliant blocking. Even the rookies have shown that they really mean business and are not going to pussy foot around.
I think that once people learn to accept that Vale does not have a god-given right to victory they will be able to recognise good motorcycle racing when they see it. I think he did a fantastic job last night because I watched with an open mind.
Stoner on the Ducati was good. They were good last season as well and have the same package, tested and proven...and did we really expect them to just sit back on their arses over the winter and let everyone catch up? So, because they didn't, Vale should just throw in the towel! I don't think even Vale wants to dominate all the time - that would be boring. We need to see other riders doing well to make the racing worthwhile. But to expect Vale to just bow out when he is still motivated and enjoying what he does is just plain selfish.
I think to enjoy this sport properly you need to live in the real world. | | Senior First Lieutenant | | Posts: 2,546 Join Date: 04.07.2007 Location: **In KC's nightmares** Age: 37

I totally agree with you Jacky...but yesterday after the race i was just so dissapointed...not in Valé(because i know he did great) but i was so looking forward to see him on the podium again...i'm going to be honest..i cried my eyes out for a while..but then i saw Valé smile and the sky was clear again....i am not a pessimistic person, just to emotional somethimes ....i will try to start living in the real world now...does that mean i have to redecorate my room(all about Valé),my bathroom(all Valé)the kitchen(yep Valé to) and do i have to stop biting everyones nose of when they talk bad about my sweet skinny wonderfull smelling so pretty soft boy??
