yup, my friends don't understand either that I am vanishing from the surface of the earth every other Sunday

Just saw the pre-race interview and Vale seems very confident! So let's hope that he has reason to!!!

Qatar MotoGP: Valentino Rossi wary of premier class rookies

By Matthew Birt
MotoGP
06 March 2008 17:49

Valentino Rossi has admitted he will start his quest to regain the MotoGP world championship in Qatar on Sunday wary of the threat posed by the likes of premier class newcomers such as James Toseland and Jorge Lorenzo.
The 29-year-old Italian believes the number of challengers at the front in MotoGP will be increased on 2007 based on the close lap times from winter testing.
The Fiat Yamaha rider said: “Last year a lot of times it was me, Dani (Pedrosa) and Casey (Stoner), but this year it looks like we have more rivals because a lot of rookies go very well in the tests.
“Maybe the battle is more open and the number of riders fighting for the victory is more, so we expect a good fight.
“Seeing the performance and tests times, it seems like all people who didn’t use the 990cc bike are already very fast with 800 because these bikes are a lot more similar to 250, so all the rookie coming from 250 are already fast. Also (James) Toseland is very fast.
The Italian might think that the number of riders capable of mounting a challenge is increased, but he is in no doubt that Aussie Casey Stoner is the biggest threat to his hopes of winning the MotoGP title for the first time since 2005.
Rossi added: “Last year Casey was good more or less every race, so we have to improve a lot.
“We worked very well in the winter and the championship is long, and we haven't ridden at 100 per cent at this moment.”

I'm so excited for this season - I think it's going to be a really exciting, close fought season with many contenders. Much more exciting than last year when Stoner and his Ducati dominated so much. At least I hope that is how it works out - lots of exciting races, with Vale coming out on top of course!!

I can't remember where I read it, but I found the stats interesting - if my memory serves me right, Rossi has won the title when he has won the first race - in 06 and 07 he didnt win the opener and didn't win the title. What do you guys make of that? I know with such a long season, you can't put too much on the first race - and I think thats especially the case when its a new race experience for everyone like this night race is - but it's interesting don't you think. I definately want to see the winning start right away anyway, put some worries to rest

Colin Edwards on Valentino Rossi:
He's like a 16 yr old who never grew up....He goes out there and enjoys the battle.
I've never really felt like he gets enough credit for how hard he works....there's no in-between, he does it all to the max. He's also very clever...he's very undercover, foxy, sly. It's cool.
Valentino was locking the front in the rain on a shitty track that was slicker than snot! Every other corner, he just had it locked! The guy's crazy!

Neither Yam nor Honda are going to use the pneumatic valve engines, right?

I know that they have, but are you sure they`re going to use them in Qatar, cos I think that they weren`t very happy with the results these engines showed and as far as I can remember, decided not to use them. There`s quite a big possibility that I may be wrong, but still...
At least I`m sure that Honda won`t use them - MOTOGP: Repsol Honda receives 2007 bikes!, motorsport news, results, features, teams, drivers, updates

Rain will stop play in Qatar.Thursday, 6th March 2008 No wet weather riding at Qatar. In the unlikely event of rain falling at Qatar this weekend, during the first ever MotoGPnight event, then the track action will be stopped due to safety concerns over the powerful floodlights reflecting off a wet track surface.CRASH.NET....

If you look at the pre-season tests, you'll see that Valentino, Lorenzo, Colin and Toseland all made very long runs with pneumatic valves.
And there was not a single engine failure.

Default 2008!!! Saison begin This week in Qatar. What can Rossi do??????? - 07.03.2008, 15:52

Ok it's time for the Qatar Grandprix!!!
When the lights go on, what will rossi do. Maybe I better can say what Can rossi do???? If Rossi not win he is a Loser!!! When he not finish on the poduim he is a completely loser. I mean 5 times motogp Champion is enough for him. It's time for Change. Change we believe in!!!!!!!! Valentino has always a raison why he can't win. Stoner has did. He is not even proud.

valentino is not even proud on him. Rossi hates people who can win gp's. He want all the attention for himself!!!

Iwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
