I bet the Bridgestone will be better in Jerez, and better in all European GP's. If not...I will make a call to Bridgestone

Mmmm, thanks for posting, Aussie.

Does anyone know whether other B'stone riders tyres ended up chewed like Rossi's? I was hoping the tougher bridgestones would put an end to him having THAT particular problem, the B'stones seemingly more durable. Anyone get a look at KC's, or read anything, as to the state they were in after the race?

I'm getting curious as to whether it's Valentino's riding style that is chewing his tyres... that's why I want to know about other B'stone riders...

That Rossi took the lead quite comfortably whilst his tyres were good, shows that at one point, he and KC were both finding them fine to race on... though the others stuggled. But KC finished the race, seemingly without grip issues, Valentino didn't. (Please, please, let it not be that old conspiracy of crap tyres going to one camp, best ones going elsewhere... Michelin were keen on doing that, it's been noted. Bridgestone vowed that that wouldn't be the case with them. They have more invested in backing KC, because he took victory from the start on Bridgestones... no real history with Michelin... if Valentino wins on Bridgestone... who will talk about the tyres? No one. It will be more about how great he is, how he's the best, what a phenomenal racer he is, etc. KC's dominance brought Bridgestone to the fore of the racing... Michelin were trashed...)

It's taken one and a half racing seasons, but finally, Rossi has broken Stoner... and smashed him like a guitar!

Well from what I can remember they got the tyre warmers on pretty quick so I didn't see his tyres! But maybe it is a riding style thing and BStone need to come up with a better tyre compound for Vale that suits his style. But it also has to be how the power delivery is different on the Ducati compared to Yamaha in the corners. Ducati's onboard computer remaps 8 times per sec during a corner! Big difference!!! Traction Control is the key here

don't know "what" tire vale used
but I think a 2008 one

I know KC used exactly the same tire as in the race 2007
so he probably tried the 2008 version tires decided they are not gonna stick and went for the last year version (interesting though that he already decided to take them along on thursday... but they had testing enough before to know what it is gonna be like...)

vermeulen, he had to come to the box during the race for his front tire "was in pieces"

hoppa had similar problems saying from mid race on his front tire was sliding all over the place

but vales problems was reportedly the backtire (right hand side)

from the others I don't know
......

I knew they were not on the same tires.
Aussie is right, Vale brakes harder then KC, without electronic he knows he can't win and he can't save tires....

Stoner made the correct tyre choice, therefore his race win is invalid? Your reasoning is slightly flawed, there is being a fan, and then there is losing all sense of logic & reason.

On Eurosport they said Vale & Casey (and all the other Bridgestone riders come to that) had chose to run the same tires....other than Vermeulen who had a softer one...(not sure if it was back or front though??)
Or was this another of my dreams managing to confuse me with reality?

If the rider is too hard on his tires doesn't that also effect the amount of fuel he uses? The harder on the tires, the more fuel will be used or something like that? So if the rider has any chance to get to the end of the race he has to adjust the way he rides the bike, is easier on the tires so not to cause them to go off too soon and thus will be more likely to have enough fuel to get the bike over the finish line also. I don't know, maybe I'm totally off course here

Basically most bridgestone riders use the similar tires but what makes the difference is the calibration with the bikes. Ducatis being the longest partner of bridgestones for sure have calibrated the tires with the bikes well and that's why they are able to performed well. In the case of Melandri, that want I don't really know why there's so much difference in performance between him and KC but i would guess that it's more of a rider factor getting use to the character of the ducati.
