I knew that there was going to be less choice in the range of tyres available but I was more interested in knowing whether they would still be restricted to only using a certain number of tyres. I had assumed that this would be relaxed now, especially after both Rossi and Moaner lost out in Qualifying sessions due to duff tyres. Quote:

yeah I think they will be restricted to an even smaler number of tires
just because BS doesn't have the means to bring the amount of tires for each rider (like last year) to the track because they have to serve ALL of them | | Top Captain | | Posts: 4,563 Join Date: 17.01.2007 Location: Sao Paulo - Brazil Age: 22

"I've asked the manufacturers to look for a solution, to start talking, but we won't see anything in 2009. We'll need more time. | At least, we know that next season will be the last one with this "overwhelming" electronic assistance I personally hate.
I really wonder what Stoner can do without a Gameboy in his hands. I mean during a whole race and not only during a qualif session. | | Junior Second Lieutenant | | Posts: 1,072 Join Date: 06.11.2007 Location: Malaysia Age: 40

I would love to see races like Laguna Seca, Motegi and Malaysia in 2009. It's head to head race nearly halfway the race without anyone running away wins. It's so boring when anyone runs away from the very first lap like the red bike always do . 2008 - VALE CONQUERED Qatar-5th, Jerez 2nd, Estoril 3rd, Shanghai 1st, Le Mans 1st, Mugello 1st, Catalunya 2nd, Donnington 2nd, Assen 11th, Sachsenring 2nd, Laguna Seca 1st, Brno 1st, Misano 1st, Indy 1st, Motegi 1st- 2008 World Champ , P.I 2nd, Sepang 1st, Valencia 3rd - 2008 World Champion | | Second Lieutenant | | Posts: 1,341 Join Date: 06.06.2007 Location: Not where I want to be :-)

- the 20 tyres available consist of 8 fronts and 12 rear tyres.
- there will be two compounds available, split evenly across the 20 tyres.
- seven compounds in all will be made by Bridgestone, but only two will be available at any single weekend.
- only one carcass construction will be available.
- there will be a limit on the number of tyres available for testing.
