It's strange how in every other sport the winning prize money is headline news....but for MotoGP we hear nothing of prize money, not to the riders, not to the manufacturers.....never a mention about prize money EVER! I'd love to know if they do actually get prize money and if so is it different for each race circuit? Or is it just down to the teams to pay the riders for each seasons racing as agreed to in their contracts? Do the riders get a bonus for winning and a massive pay out for becoming World Champion???

Makes you think doesn't it? Or is it just me being a woman and always thinking of money first before most other things!!

Interesting thought Angela...about them getting prize money and they way women's minds work.
I don't really know about the former but would have thought it was sorted out in the riders contract who got what and when, even if there was prize money for each race.

As for the woman's brain thing...money means nothing to me, I have a credit card!

As for the MotoGP moving away from Donington, I think we as a country should really think about providing some decent facilities for the sport and it's spectators as the european circuits I have been to put the UK ones to shame.
I have to admit to having a soft spot for Rockingham circuit and my hubby thinks that would be a great option as even I couldn't get lost on my way there!

Very scary looking out from those plate glass walls from so high up too....my knees turned to jelly when I looked at the circuit from the suite we were in a few years back. And all those stairs, all of teh bloody stairs!!!....sod that Jr....I hope they never take the MotoGP to Rockingham!

Aha, so all that training I did in the City in those great high rise, glass fronted office blocks where it was actually quicker to walk down 20 flights of stairs than wait for the lift was worthwhile then. They do the windows like that in office blocks to make you concentrate on your work cos no normal person is going to risk a recreational glance out of the window when you are that high up. I don't really see why they would use the same idea at a race circuit though, I had never really thought about it, never having been posh enough to be in that position. My feet have always been firmly planted on the grass there.

I must second Angela O Rockingham is rubbish Good for the paying pubic and good size garages but thats about it the Infield that would form most of the track probably no wider than my front room in places. Plus the neighbours would moan about noise I think they are allowed 6 "race weekends" a year now at the most.

It makes a good track day place though

Like I say brands would be excellent as a second GB race or a Non championship shootout with big prizes Even if it's mainly testers bother to go, it's a shame to put what summer we get to waste by having a "Summer Break"

It would be a mistake to move it to Silverstone, it has nothing like Craner Curves!
