Well, Stoner did make a huge improvment in terms that he actually stayed on the bike in most of the races (if I remember corectly he was pretty much in KO mode in 2006.), but in a fact it was the Ducati that made it all possible (the machine really clicked perfectly and was supported with great tires).
He cannot of course be compared to Vale, because he simply hasn't earned that yet.
You put a deceant bike under that 46 and we're back in business
