Default Petition against electronic aids for riders - 18.12.2007, 07:01

I'm just making a suggestion for us to do a petition that there should be a certain control over electronic aids for riders. May be if we do that, it would be a little help for our hero VALE.

mmm my opinion is that we shouldn't do it just for Vale, but tobring back the joy in both practising and watching the sport itself.

Absolutely!!

A bit of progress for safety is alright, but let's keep the fun in racing! Cause I want to enjoy it still even when one day Vale decides to not race anymore!

Effectively what's being done is electronic "doping" and we need to let Dorna and FIM know this can not continue in order to preserve the integrity of the sport.

Let's do it for all the old-school racers who have given their blood, sweat and tears for this sport. Those guys were tough and didn't require any kind of special electronics to win!!!!

Default Control electronics? - 21.12.2007, 12:45

Control electronics?

from formula 1, f1, formula one, moto gp, wrc, wsbk, bsb, btcc, nascar, champ car, irl, a1, gt, le mans.

Friday, 21st December 2007

MotoGP may have narrowly avoided the introduction of a control tyre rule for 2008, but Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has revealed that 'control electronics' could be on the horizon.

Ezpeleta is interested in the use of a standard ECU throughout the grid to limit the influence of complex electronic control systems, which have substantially tamed MotoGP machines in recent seasons.

"[Electronics] are the next thing we are working on" Ezpeleta told Motosprint magazine. "We need to regulate it and the ideal solution would be to have a standard [ECU] unit for everyone, but the manufacturers don't like the idea. It needs to be discussed further and I will talk with the riders, technicians and everybody involved."

Formula One, which already has a control tyre rule, will introduce a standard ECU in 2008.

Many MotoGP fans objected to the control tyre proposal, saying that it went against MotoGP's prototype philosophy, but would the introduction of a standard ECU be more acceptable? Add your comments below...

Guys, now I'm sure that we are being observed.... ...

It's good news if they observed us. What we are doing is just to have the race to be fair and square to all riders and to see the best tuner that sets up the bike to the optimum. Just like the good old times.
