The best race for the 2008 season so far is Qatar

.
But while it was not what many had hoped for, it was still a very exciting race.
A historical race as it was the first under floodlights and I think it was far better to watch than I had anticipated - if anything I thought the bikes were easier to differentiate than in daylight. It was certainly different.
There was a fair bit of overtaking and action - and for those that like it there was some falling-off.
There were different riders up at the front which makes it all the more interesting - sorry I don't hold with the view that all rookies must wait their turn to be at the front - they are experienced, talented racers who should, and did, prove that to us in Qatar.
The final podium was not one I had predicted (and was I the only person here who did not truly beleive that Vale would be up there after the first race?).
So, the Qatar race, in my view was a good one and I hope to see many more like that in the coming season. Of course I would like to see Vale maintaining his place at the front more and more but I also want to see some overtaking, some excitement and some unpredictable results.
The last thing I want to see is a season like the last one with it's string of monotonous processions and the occasional blip of a spectacle.
