Default Chris Vermeulen - 17.01.2007, 18:44

From Crash.net...

Vermeulen:This test can't come soon enough for me.

John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen can't wait to get back into action testing the latest version of Suzuki's 800cc GSV-R next week at Sepang in Malaysia.

The Rizla Suzuki riders have had a seven week break due to the Moto GP test ban, now that ban is over both riders are eager to get back on their bikes to continue from where they left off in Spain last year - Hopkins and Vermeulen were both amongst the fastest riders at the tests at the end of last season.

Both riders have spent their time well, training hard through the winter back in their respective native homes of America and Australia. They have undertaken a thorough fitness programme during the break to prepare themselves for the grueling 18 race season that lies ahead.

"Right now we've just got to maintain the good level of performance that we seemed to have in the first 800 tests," said Hopkins, "We've got to work really hard in these tests, because once the first race comes, we've got to be ready! We all need to be prepared. I think Suzuki is ready, and myself - physically and mentally – I'm totally geared up and looking forward to it very much. We're going to be working a lot with Bridgestone and testing a lot of tyres over race distance and working on the durability of not just the tyres but the bike as well. We just all need to pull together and make it happen!"
I'm looking forward to seeing how Suzuki do next year - Chris V did very well in the last round of testing - I reckon he could finish next year higher than Hopper .

I think that no matter who will sponsor Yam , Fiat or Movistar, Vale's bike will be blue!

I'm for blue, but if it isn't possible I hope a cool color scheme too!

I hope for a blue bike too Gi...that way I won't have to do much adding of new stickers to my car.....last year everywhere I went people would say that I had to change my car's paint from blue to yellow!

OK we will all vote for blue so you can keep your lovely car as it is - I think the yellow might be a bit much. I remember they did once do the Mondeo in a very fetching acid yellow...I wonder if anyone ever bought one...

My husband had an Alfa 156 as a company car a few years ago. He got into big trouble as we had to test-drive every car on the planet but didn't try any alfas - he had a Lancia a few years before and vowed he would never have another italian car. This new company car (citroen Picasso in misty lilac) took 4 months to turn up and when it did it was a red Alfa Romeo. I was furious and rightly so as it turned out. The car was a problem from day one - the silver grey interior which he had ordered was black and there was always the comforting red glow of the engine warning light. In the end (having driven many hundreds of miles in Fiat Punto courtesy cars) the garage solved the problem (disconnected the warning light) and guess what? The engine blew up. They fixed it. It blew up again - 100 miles from home. The car by this time had reached the ripe old age of 11 months. We got another company car and I got to choose. Had it 3 years without a problem. Changed it, I chose, no problem. Why do you think I am reluctant to let him choose my new car?
