Thanks heaps, Maree, for posting The Troy Bayliss Story, really informative. I never paid much attention to him... sort of put him in the Gary McCoy category and shrugged him off, and just thought... oh well, another rider who doesn't quite make it. But since the whole emergence of Ducati this year, reading his 'bio' with that hindsight, I've realised I've been very mean in just putting a lot of these riders in the "kind of average" bin. I guess this is always a risk being a Rossi fan... he does stand out, he does beat all, he is such a talent, you sort of tend tothink no one else is as good, that's why they don't win. (Obviously with Rossi around, that is always going to be a lot harder...

). That Troy Bayliss is a fighter was always obvious, but now knowing where he was coming from... mmmm. Interesting. I was dead surprised he won at Valencia last year. Kind of gobsmacked. But his victory was completely overshadowed by Rossi losing. By the end of that race, who was paying attention to who won??? But I thought, wow, you've been at the "how to win a motogp" tablets! But then, had Rossi hadn't fallen off, maybe Troy wouldn't have won... who knows... anyhoo... I didn't watch much of 2003, but all of 2004... I guess that's why I was a bit ho hum about the Troy. My apologies, Troy!

So, like I said, good read, Maree! And good work, helping to broaden the minds of motogp fans everywhere!
