Hi the books start obviously with the no 1 but they start a bit slow for a newbie......if you want a feel of the Discworld I would read one of the witches ones first because Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax are the two most comical in the books ,but dont appear in them all. Also he did 3 books that were supposed to be for younger readers... lmao... they to me are the funniest of them all..Start with " The Wee Free Men " "A Hatfull Of Sky" and then the "The Wintersmith". They have the Nac Mac Feegles in them some of the funniest characters in the Discworld. " Nae king nae queen nae maister we winnae be fooled again" sorry couldnt help myself the wee men get inside your head lol. Rincewind:
1 The Colour of Magic 2 The Light Fantastic 5 Sourcery 9 Eric 17 Interesting Times 22 The Last Continent 27 The Last Hero
4 Mort 11 Reaper Man 16 Soul Music 20 Hogfather 26 Thief of Time
Watch:
8 Guards! Guards! 15 Men at Arms 19 Feet of Clay 21 Jingo 24 The Fifth Elephant 25 The Truth 29 Night Watch (read #26 Thief of Time first)
All of the above are Discworld books (as you know), the numbers beside are the order they come in but they have been separated under charactersStandalone:
7 Pyramids 10 Moving Pictures 13 Small Gods
I absolutely agree with Speedy, you souldn't read them chronically but start with the witches, the are the easiest to gain access to the discworld! A Hatfull Of Sky" and "The Wintersmith" are rather new ones so I wouldn't really start with them...
My recommendation would be "Lords and Ladies", all my friends who like him and me started with it and it's really good!

Thx very, very much Speedy, I`ll most certainly do that when I have enough time.
I`m not much into fictional books, but I`ll give these a go, if they are that funny
They are quite a lot, I wonder if I can find them in public library
I've been stunned at just how many girls sign up to my myspace and their profiles are full of photo's of themselves almost naked, grinding up against other girls, looking like strippers or porn stars and this book is a good explanation for what's happening..
it's a very very good historical novel.. i love the way the connection between french cultural revolution and commedia dell'arte is presented...i loved it...
