Default English-italian-English Language Official Topic - 18.08.2007, 13:08

Often I read about people who wants learn italian language....often I need someone told me the right way in English.
Cause...
- Italian was my best subject at school.
- My work is writing in very correct italian (I must do...)
- here there's someone that knows both the languages very well

So, I thought " Could a topic on the languages be useful for us?"

And I have found the answer:"Yes!!!"

Therefore anyone has something to ask about, this is the right place.

P.S.
What's wrong writing this post in English??

Thanks MAK, this is an excellent idea. I am learning italian but it is only when I go to use it outside the classroom, in real life, that I realise how little I know.

And if I can rely on someone here to help me with my translation my son will be able to grow his hair (no more emergency visits to the italian hairdresser) and I should get good marks for my homework

And, if anyone else needs help I also speak french and german - but I am sure there are others here far better at those languages than me.

Ok guys!

mmm...I must tell you that my best subject at school was italian language and it seems normal, cause I'm italian, but in Italy isn't so normal!

In Italy, every 30kms the language changes the accent and the dialect changes too...

So there's places here, that the people are in great difficulty to understand a correct italian language!!!
You must speak in dialect!!
Let alone in english!!!!!

But now you must correct me and someone must write in italian, so I could help.

Aha but what a country expects of it's immigrants is far more than it expects of it's own nationals!
A Japanese friend has just taken her UK citizenship exam and passed - I know for a fact that I would have failed despite having lived here for my entire life, as did my ancestors.
Nobody said the rules were fair!!
