Sobbing means crying noisily (I looked it up in the dictionary just to check!).
I am sure your mum really is cool - It is just the realisation that I am old enough to be the parent of an adult.
Wait til you are in that position and you will understand.
I don't even feel like a grown up myself - grown-ups are those confident people who know what they are doing and know all the answers, they don't make mistakes and always do the right thing. I am still just bumbling around and aiming for damage limitation rather than perfection.

No... That's just people with enough money &/or charisma to make other people beliave they are confident, knowledgeable, above mistake & correct.

Thanks, Jos - I feel a bit better about it now. And lets face it, there is bugger all I can do about it so I may as well just keep smiling!

I really LOVE your avatar by the way - any chance I could have a slightly bigger version for the fridge? (us oldies have poor eyesight - since the age of 4 in my case!)
