Yes I have, last year for my Birthday. It is quite a nice place to spend few hours at. You can see the Fan Club - become a member and see the 2 bikes Rossi won his World Championship with. Also the local 7-11 is basically a Rossi shop - everything from lighters to clothes, signed photos and models. Also there are some cute free postcard you can collect
It is quite amazing to go around the village - every house got a 46 flag, even the police car got one there! there is a small coffee shop which is all about Rossi - books, mags and good coffee

It would really help if you have SatNav with you, since it is in the middle of nowhere!

Again - few hours for Rossi's fan would be nice, don't count on a whole day there though.

Enjoy!

We were obviously following the same itinerary as you!!! I agree with everything you have said - have a browse around the fan club (only 1 bike there when we went) and you will definitely end up buying something there - even if it is just to get a yellow Rossi carrier bag!
The little shop in the town sells everything you could possibly ask for with a Rossi theme and the Cafe Valentino does a nice Cappuccino with 46 on the top which goes very well with the chocolate croissants. It is easy to spot with the sweet little Fiat 500 (old one) parked outside.
The town itself was festooned with 46 flags and the atmosphere was great - we were there last Saturday after the race in Assen.

We also stayed in Pesaro and had no trouble at all finding Tavullia which was well signposted - there are directions on the fan-club website but we did not even need to use them.

Have fun!

"end up buying something there" you must be kidding!!!
I spent 220 euros there in less than an hour.
(then went to the fan club only to find out that for 40 euros you get LOADS)

Uhhh! I was just incredibly lazy and walked out of the hotel, got into the hire car and let my husband drive me there...I hate having to drive abroad and in a strange car and my husband can be quite merciless so I always make a quick dash to ensure I get possession of the passenger seat. I have now got wise to the steering wheel being on the other side so don't get caught out and find myself having to drive unexpectedly as often as I used to. My husband used to be very puzzled by what appeared to be my enthusiasm to drive and I was too proud to own up!

As for public transport, I really don't know.
There is a tourist office in Pesaro and I am sure they will be able to advise you on the best way to get to Tavullia

Indeed, that was my birthday present. Week in Italy (Bologne) and on race day we went to Tavullia.
I would suggest hire a car, even for a day... dont know how much would it cost to get a taxi...

I was able to restrain myself because we were relying on just having hand luggage so couldn't carry much. I was also well aware that we are going back in August for 10 days - so made a mental note of all the things I can buy then. Kids can be useful - they are saving their pocket money so I won't have to shell out for all of it.

Oh you're lucky. No chance Colin will ever come back with me. He was SO bored...
Too bad I never noticed the 46 on top of the Cappuccino (probably because I only drink diet coke..)
