why does Vale have bad starts???? I mean he is a brilliant rider... why is his start like that????

I don't know but having watched him at Donington he was all-a-fidget just before the start. The others were sitting there motionless, ready to go and Valentino was wriggling about all over the place - it looks like he isn't really ready but I am sure that can't be the case. I took a photo right at the start which showed how slow he was off the mark compared to the others. I wish he would do something about it because, while he has shown he can still win from a long way back, he would make it a lot stressfull for us if he started at the same time as the rest of the riders.

maybe he's just afraid of doing a jumpstart..
maybe it has something to do with the way the bike is set up

I mean no one can tell me he'S got a bad reaction...

For as long as I can remember Vale has always been not quite as good off the starting grid as he could be.....I think it's just something he's not so good at. Well he can't be 100% perfect, after all he's human isn't he!

Yeah seems he sooooooooooooo perfect in everything else, he has got to have one thing that he's not good at, like you said he is only human, if he was perfect in everything people would make him out as a superhero out of a comic book, come to think about it that would be a great idea a comic book on Vale

and someoen asked him about his bad starts in 00 or 01 I think..
and he said
it's one of his flaccidities together with qualifing laps he has to get better..
well didn't work for the first oen..
the second one is fine by now..

I can't remember which race it was but one commentator had said that only one rider could make up that kind of a gap and it was Valentino Rossi. The other guy said that yes, that was true but even Valentino was only human (suggesting that it was too much for even Valentino to close the gap) The first guy then said "Yes, Rossi is human, but only just! "
I thought that was brilliant and sums up Valentino perfectly.

I like to think that at the start of a race Rossi is like a little kid - distracted by everything around him and only when the others start to go he thinks "Ooops that should be me too, I better get on with it." (I just sat through my daughter's school sports day this afternoon so I now know a thing about distracted kids and races - no point getting uptight, you just have to smile and let it go!)

maybe he is color blind
and only knows when to start after the others do
