I can't remember which race it was but one commentator had said that only one rider could make up that kind of a gap and it was Valentino Rossi. The other guy said that yes, that was true but even Valentino was only human (suggesting that it was too much for even Valentino to close the gap) The first guy then said "Yes, Rossi is human,
but only just! "
I thought that was brilliant and sums up Valentino perfectly.
I like to think that at the start of a race Rossi is like a little kid - distracted by everything around him and only when the others start to go he thinks "Ooops that should be me too, I better get on with it.
