Those boots have been put to the test in last week's snow and were the talk of the school playground!

We now have 2 more projects in hand - the umbrella (thanks Angela - little miss tantrum saw your comment and insisted) and the paint-your-own-piggy-bank (don't ask who accidentally smashed the last one).

I have suggested that my wishes are being neglected but my husband has put his foot down on the "paint-your-own-garage-door" idea (unless the design is pure white on a pure white background).

I got an umbrella the perfect shade of yellow from POUND LAND, you know one of those pound shops! Guess how much I paid for it!??!!!:p :D

It's more than a bit loud even as it is now and just plain yellow but I'd love to have little tiny 46's sprinkled all over it...sort of like it's been raining 46's!
The only problem is no matter what kind of fabric pen I use it still keeps on bleeding into and along the fabric fibers  I was so disappointed :o now I have a bright yellow umbrella doing nothing!

Perhaps I should pass on the "special Umbrella Markers" (I'll buy anything if it is labelled correctly!) when we have finished with them - I love your idea.

As for Poundland - they are going to suffer most when we eventually change over to the euro!

My husband got in a right state when he bought a copy of Gazetta dello Sport yesterday in London - marked as 1euro - they would not accept his euro but instead charged him £1.40. I am almost tempted to get rid of the offending item and hope he has forgotten about it overnight. He is working from home today and I have a feeling it will still be his only topic of conversation!

OK Angela - I have the answer for you. If the markers bleed into the fabric, I think you will find that it is not the most waterproof of umbrellas. What you could do is waterproof it (you can get spray cans from Millets, etc.) and then try the markers. I am sure it will work. Then you will not only have a fantastic-looking umbrella but one that keeps you dry, too which I think could catch on!:D
