Maybe a soft image of a turtle, in place of the butterflies, and in the same position as Vale?

Thought it might be useful for someone...shame it's a week late - it would have been better if it was in time for the week off school the kids just had, but still suppose we can use them to keep the kids happy in 4 weeks time when they are off again for 2 weeks!

Hello everyone. i'm new here but I was directed to show everyone my drawing of the great Vale! I got him to sign it when I was at Laguna Seca. It took...oh...about 18 hours of waiting by his paddock to get him to sign it. It was well worth it. It's now hanging in a frame up on the wall. I'm not gonna give anyone my address either so all of you sneaky thieves can forget about that!




Here's another one I did after. It's my first drawing using colored pencils so I know it's rough. I have some practice to do!


This was my first drawing of Rossi. Back in the Honda days.




Don't forget to add the Ferrari F1 Car he drove. You gotta get all of it in there. You could also grab a little bit more of when he was younger. Like when he first got onto two wheels. When he was racing around on pocketbikes with the mohawk and ninja turtle on his helmet. He must've been the first one to do that! Hahha

If none of that floats your boat you can just throw in some basic stuff like him thinking in the pits or one of his helmet designs. The sun and moon should be in there. Hell I might be giving you too many ideas! You're gonna have to start another painting! hahaha.

Oh and since I'm writing a book here. Do you sell these things? They're sooo good and I can't paint at all. It would be nice to have a painting on the wall.

That colouring-in thing that you posted is more up my street, Debs. I will have a look at that later - I may even let the kids have a go.

Hey Captain Keys your damned talented aren't you! Those drawings are spot on in every detail, really good indeed. Well done to you!! & especially for managing to get Valentino to sign it for you too...the icing on the cake so to speak!

I learned to paint with trying it with watercolours first...that way you just build up the depth of colour you need. Also I played about with using coloured pencils but the ones that when you add water to they turn into paint...they are also a good way to introduce you into painting your pictures. Personally I like how you have done them in the basic pencil without the colours myself....I think they are great....and a lot more to my own taste in art...the stuff I do just doesn't rock my boat but it's the only way I can do them....plain old copying basically.

I really like the idea you had about adding the early images of Vale to the painting I'm trying to finish off. My only problem if finding a picture clear and big enough for me to be able to print off on my computer, so I can copy from them. All I have been able to find so far are from his early racing career are thumbnail sizes or ones that are really fuzzy and not very focused. So if you happen to have such images, please do share them so I can finish this bloody painting...it's starting to get on my nerves big time now!!

PS...keep up the good work with your pictures.....they are really good indeed.

Hey Angela if you can give me a link to a place where I can order those pencils you were talking about that'd be great. I have to try to get into painting. It always looks better.

I also like the drawings as just plain old pencil but everyone else always wants them in color. So I finally gave in and tried it out. It turned out ok. I just have to practice it more.

Oh and as for images of stuff of when vale was younger, I don't really have any. I do have a video of Vale though and it show him in his go cart and on his pocketbike. Some goofing around on a 10 speed too. There's a bunch of stuff you could use. You just have to have a video capturing program. i don't know if I have any. I'll check for you though. I want to see that painting done too! It's great!

How do I get this video to you? Maybe I can just find a link to it and message that to you...we'll figure it out.

I have the English version and can't figure any other way to put it up here than just uploading it to youtube myself. I'll do that so everyone can understand what he's saying. It's also lower quality video because it's on Youtube. I want to get you the better version but at least you can preview it and see if there's anything you want.
