Staind, we all have different tastes in paintings, so for many I expect it's wonderful.
I don't have any paintings on display in my house at all...not a single one...not even any of my own work, I don't like any of my stuff either!

I did arts a couple of years in secondary school and also made a lot of paintings but found faces one of the most difficult things to paint..
And yes I don't like my own paintings either. I had one painting I liked (was 2m on 1.2m) which was the only one I liked but my brother was begging for it so I gave it away..

Anyway, I must say I like your paintings a lot and yea sometimes it's better to start all over (but I don't think this one is that bad). Well, good luck on making the new one and send us a pic if it's ready

I've drawn out a new version of the failed painting today, will paint it tomorrow and show you what I end up with when it's finished...that's if I don't ask for help on it again from you guys!!!

I did do a painting I did like a little this year & almost kept it too when Vale signed it for me but I had a change of heart & gave it back to Vale after I decided to paint myself a better one and have him sign it for me next year instead. From the look on Vale's face I think he thought I was a bit weird until the girl who helped to run the auction explained I was the one who did most paintings of him at the auction, then I think he understood my reasons better for giving back the painting he'd just signed. Best still, the one I gave back to him ended up selling for £850 at the Riders for Health auction....not bad for an A4 sized painting I did one night because there was nothing on the telly to watch!!!

I think it's because I've always got lots of paintings spread around my living-room (that's were I paint, when watching TV or using the computer) you know the one's I'm in the process of painting, what I've just finished or sketches of ideas for painting. It's nice to not have anything up on the walls when I'm surrounded by so many all the time.

Sorry that painting did not work out Angela. I know what you mean though about having to bin it and start all over again - sometimes you end up changing so many things in search of perfection that it gets further from being right and there is no way back.
Fingers crossed for the next one. You can do it but you are the one who has to be happy with it.
I am really looking forward to seeing the next masterpiece.

Oops...I only post pictures of the ones I need help with....Sorry, I never thought to put up pictures of the paintings I've done.....I must paint something like 4 or more every month....and yes, about 95% of all what I paint are of Valentino!

Maybe if I remember, from now on I'll post up pictures of the paintings I finish for you guys to see...it never crossed my mind to do that until reading the last line in your post Jr. (Just how selfish am I?! LOL)

Seriously Angela I for one would love to see your paintings - there hasn't been one yet that hasn't impressed me and I am sure I am not alone in that - no pressure though.

I don't know though, it feels like people could well think I'm putting them up on here trying to get free advertising for my paintings or something.....you know like those people who every now and then join the forum for the only intention to sell their paintings. It really bugs me the way some people do that. After a quick sales pitch from them they're never seen posting on here again.

It's the last thing I want anyone thinking if I post pictures on here of what I've painted.

MAYBE..... .....If I'm promised that people on here won't think of me as using the forum as a free advertising board for my work then maybe from now on I'll show you what I've painted and not only when I need help with fixing a painting that going wrong. We'll see.

hey this is the OT Calling blablabla thread...you are ALLOWED to post those paintings..and now after your post I don't think you have a choice anymore..you HAVE to post finished pictures

but if you are doubting about your credibillity/intentions (through other member's' eyes) then why don't you just post pictures of the ones you already sold?
That will not make it seem like you are trying to get us to buy them and we can still admire your wonderful works of art!!
