his face does looks rounder sometimes depending on the angle of shot . i think this one is acceptable, not really chubby haha..
his left eyebag looks huge.. haha.
neck seems abit short and thick, but again its the angle of the shot LOL
i'd say everything is right, its just Vale who didnt look his best for this pic. hehe. 8 | | DIVA | | Posts: 2,032 Join Date: 01.07.2007 Location: Sydney, Australia | | |

I'm stuck on a painting I'm doing. It's the one that was auctioned at the Day of Champions, you know for the winning bidder to have a photo taken with Valentino and then for me to paint it. Well I'm stuck already.
I think that Vale is looking a little on the chubby side (his face) in it and there's something wrong with the mouth and left eye. The painting's not nearly finished yet, so don't worry about the hair, sunglasses clothes or background etc...they're just sketched in for now as a guide for when I paint them properly, but does the face need thinning and the eye and mouth sorting out .... am I right with this or is it something else that's making it look wrong?
I need fresh eyes to point out the mistakes to me. & don't just hold back with the comments thinking you're being mean pointing out the problems 'cos that's what I need....the wrong areas made obvious to me so I can fix them up and make it right!
The person who this painting is for has paid a lot of money for it and I'm sure he would want it to be done right.....so no holds bared, what's wrong with it? PLEASE!!! | I think it's because he's put his head back, whereas usual Rossi posture is slouching forward, neck forward... he rarely tucks his chin in like that, so it makes him look different.
I think his neck is a bit too thick... that's what gives it a "fatter" look, because i actually think you've nailed his features... the symmetry etc seems pretty much right on. And he does have a skinny kind of neck. (Cute skinny neck.)
The other thing... there seems to be a tension around his mouth... the smile looks a bit tight, not his usual easy looking smile. Now, this might be where you have to use artistic licence... cause if that is the half assed, tight looking smile he gave... to make the fan happy, should probably loosen his smile up a bit. Teeth possibly protruding a bit too much, so I guess the shape of his top teeth and the line they have not quite accurate.
Did Rossi seriously not take his sunnies off for the photo? What a dork. lol.
Nice work Angela... the fan that we can't see... how are they coming along?
Oh, and perhaps the position of his left shoulder looks like it's coming forward... putting his head back from his body even further... so it's an angle thing or something. It's taken one and a half racing seasons, but finally, Rossi has broken Stoner... and smashed him like a guitar! LMAO... you're so passive aggressive!
Why do you think I stick with limmericks? If they suck... there's no pain! It's taken one and a half racing seasons, but finally, Rossi has broken Stoner... and smashed him like a guitar! i've never been much of an envious girl
never cried because my hair wont curl
oh i've envied the birds for their ability of flight
but never missed anything that wasnt mine by right
but lately i've become envious a lot
of things i've seen and wished i'd got
i envy italians, in their country so old
for bringing us a man, so fair and bold
i envy the people he touches each day
and the places he's been, where i want to stay
i envy the circuits on which he has bled
i envy the pillows where he lays his head
i envy the leathers he wears on his frame
and even the bike, on which he found his fame
i envy his friends, who know him best
and the rivals he's beaten, who failed the test
but sadly i admit what i envy most
is never being a part of that victory toast!

you cant choose your family, thats what they say
but i have found that you cant always trust in the "they"
a family is something you are born into of course
and it cant be changed by wishing or force
but the meaning of family can be different for me
it doesnt have to begin with a tree
one day i was searching for somewhere to be
where the people had interests similar to me
i searched my heart for a direction to head
and i thought of Vale, a most interesting thread
i pondered and searched for a promising place
where i could learn and discuss the man and the race
i happened upon an unlikely site
where people were posting and sharing the right
from all over the world, they moved in harmony
i knew right away this place was meant for me
i've met all kinds of friends
from the worlds every end
sure there are differences in opinions, a few
but they are discussed and resolved too
like any family there are some we cant stand
but we are always there with a helping hand
there are those we adore
and those we abhor
but in all our heads
there is the collective thread
that keep us as one,
and filled with the fun
the man we all like
the man on the bike
who keeps us in check and keeps us in line
who entertains us time after time
but we are here for the company
and for the comraderie
for the knowledge and scope
for the love and the hope
and we hope to never lose
this family that we choose.
