I hope it all arrives soon as well as my postman is close to having a breakdown. He has been off work the last week and I can only think that it is because he cannot stand to see the disappointment on my face every day. Or perhaps it is because he is dreading the day it actually turns up and is fearful for how I might show my gratitude!

what's a "jumper?"

A jumper is someone who jumps ()....or a sweater or pullover, a long-sleeved top. And I presume we are talking about the latter here.

it is funny. but its cool at the same time. too many americans (like me) don't get a taste of other people's culture around the world...

anyways, over here we either call them sweatshirts if they are casual... sweaters if they are dressier (usually wool or cashmere or nice fabric).... or "track jackets" if they are zip ups with half collars.

if you say "jumper" over here, it usually refers to a casual dress that women wear (although the term very 1980s)... like this


so if i get a valentino dress, i might be mad...

(but i might still wear it!)

I certainly hope I don't get a fan club dress although my t-shirt last year was long enough!

That dress is known as a pinafore over here. A jumper is knitted with long sleeves and goes on over the head.

I thought someone had gotten their stuff when I spotted new posts in this thread...couldn't open it quick enough to see what we would be getting....but I was disappointed yet again, still nothing in the post for anyone I see!
