Yellow Community T-shirts -
01.03.2008, 10:53
I can hear you sighing already, but no, this time we are not voting over designs, we already have them. They are the two unsuccessful designs from our earlier vote for a t-shirt for Vale from the Yellow Community plus a new design by Tassie.
Tassie has very helpfully already printed up samples of all 3 shirts and I think they are so good that I think we should adopt them of our own and have 'The Yellow Community' printed across the back.

They rock !
Check this out: (yes i did them with my machines here)
Griz nagged me to do her an i love Uccio shirt:
I think having 3 designs allows people to chose whichever one, or two or three, they prefer themselves, while still giving us a unique look. Having the shirts would help us to stand out as YC members at race meetings and make us easily identifiable to each other when we meet up.
So yellows, what do you think should we adopt an official shirt?
A word of caution, if we decide to go ahead we will have to get the backing of the Official fanclub in Tavullia before we can print 'The Yellow Community' across the back.
It's the word 'OFFICIAL' that mainly needs the approval of the fan club in Tavullia, not only from them but also approval from Steve (who's the person who created the forum after the last one closed down) and the other 'Yellow Community' Admin.
I think shirt is good idea and for approval I guess you need it at first from people who created Yellow community, and for fan club in Travullia,I dont know law that much but I guess you need it if its something official and if you use something they protected by law.....anyway probably others knew better.....and just one question: suposing we choose one or more shirts, doesent matter, who will print them? its big job to print them, make at different sizes and send them to those who want to buy...
.......time and love, those are the greates gifts of all........
Providing we get the approval from all parties involved I think it is a really great idea to have an official t-shirt of the YC. Would really make us stand out and as helen said easier recognisable to the other YC members

Leaving aside the fact that I have never stated anywhere that I was intending to use the word 'OFFICIAL' on the t-shirts, can you tell me who exactly has the authority to say whether I or anybody else can go ahead and print t-shirts which say 'The Yellow Community' on the back?
Thanks, it's just that there is no point in me pursuing this if the head honchos say no to the whole idea, I'll just get Jackie to send me her design and get a couple printed up for myself anyway.

Mmm, this thread doesn't seem to be getting too much interest which surprises me, I thought that this would be something that people would want but obviously not....
Oh well, I'll just get my own and let the rest of you sort you own ones out too
Helen, you know what a risk I am taking here but, hey! broken bones mend!
I am also surprised at the lack of interest which is why I want you to know that I certainly am interested but did not say anything earlier for obvious reasons.
When we did this last year it was nowhere near as complicated - we were allowed to print shirts with The Yellow Community, the forum banner and our sig names, no questions asked or authority sought, but the whole atmosphere here has changed now...perhaps someone should look into the reasons why this has happened. The Community Spirit has gone.
Anyway, that should not prevent someone from trying re-introduce some semblance of a community and I appreciate your efforts to do so Helen.
So, when you decide what you are doing, can you let me know (pm me a pic or a description) and I will probably do some for us, too. We may be a little acorn but a great oak may be the result.
As with the Birthday card which we did for Vale, it is probably best for one person to come up with the idea and then those that want to can follow and those who don't can leave it.
no, angela just meant that if we're gonna make "official" yellowcommunity shirts, we would need the approvement of the admins, as they run the site...
jr, last year when you did the yellowcomm-shirts, you did them just for you and your fam. i thought helen meant like....yellowcommunity shirts that maybe can be bought in a shop like cafepress or something like that later. at any time, you know?
And for THAT angela meant to have the admins approve the shirt....
It's not THAT complicated after all... I would help, but i'm super busy the next two weeks doing an application portfolio for this school i'm applying to. *gaaaah* taking up ALL my time..i didn't even watch the qatar tests...*tear*
anway, i'd say, go for it, and post your ideas! comments will come. some people need concrete images to "work with"....or leave comments.
I never fart. // important! // important! the crisis is real: it's not technical issues nearly as much as leadership issues!!
no Jr is right....I have a t-shirt like that and so do a number of other forum members, she did not just create them for her family.
But Jr adjusted the designs to individual member names and then they went off to print the shirts themselves, I think the difference lies in that.
