Can anyone tell me if the number 46 has a special meaning? Does it stand for something?

yes it does have a special meaning to him
it's his number ever since he raced in the World championship

and he chose it becasue it was the number his father won his first 250 gp with in 1979
and there was a japanese wildcardrider with the number 46 vale admired
because he rode quiet agressiv....

he never gave teh number away not even to take the number 1 when he was world champion
becasue everybody recognises him with the number 46

Staind is right... It`s the number Vale has on his bike from the beginig of his racing career... Mmm... Vale won`t be Vale without it...

Mmm... I don`t know, how this car looks like (honestly, not interested in them...), but that, what i found after searching:

I remember reading about it also in his Autobiography that when he was much younger & raced minibikes it was a number he & two of his friends used when racing as they were all in different races, I'll have to re-read the book, when I find it though, as it's packed away somewhere.
