i dont' really know how this award works, but i bet it's more for olympic sports and the likes.
motors racing is not even considered a sport in those environments.
it's probably going to someone who in the minds of the promoters is a "real" example of sportman (= a champion of ethics and moral).
someone whom with his "example" should enhance the good virtues of the sport.
so it's probably be one of those meeting of footbal and other rich sports haters
the prize is probably going to someone who lives sport and church, or to someone claiming that thanks to the sport was able to overcome some big personal problem (yeah sure, it was sport and not downers and shrinks who put you off your suicidal thoughts) or to someone that helped the building of some gyms in some slums (yeah, hopefully it will put off the streets one kid while the others 3.000 will be left pushing crack just because they were slim and not suited to boxe), or to someone championing some sport but still barely making ends meet because not even his family would enjoy watching his discipline (bet you weren't that good playing football when you used to dream about lifting that world cup in the sky, eh?).
or probaly it's going to that guy who runs with metallic legs because he never gave up and he deserved a place in the olympics among the "normals" because he would have liked that so much and he is a "real" athlete, not a spoiled rich one like Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. and who cares if olympics were some other "normal" athlete's dream who will never come true because he had to give up his place for the special one. he ain't nobody! Pistorious was in all national TVs!
ehehehe sorry, just wanted to play iconoclast with some dark humour.
yeah well, have a good award whoever's gonna win it
