I agree that the track invasions need to be stopped.
Last year when I first went to Donington Park I was really horrified when so many people started pouring onto the track facing me. I didn't think how dangerous it was until then, especially when there were riders that were still flying around, the two tech3 riders hadn't even finished their race, so it was unfair to them too. Also I was very annoyed that it spoilt my chance to see Vale on a cool down lap and maybe get some good photos of him waving at the crowd, as well as getting a chance to see the other riders too of course, I was absolutley raging!
However this year I niavely said to my dad, maybe this year will be better and they will take warnings seriously and step up security measures, but all they had done was make the fence go in a triangular/zig-zag pattern. Then one lap before the end I seen a whole bunch of what I can only call idiots crawling under the fence and onto the track. It really is just stupid, watching Colin Edwards actually riding across the grass to avoid them, just madness! Another years cool down lap spoilt, and some nice photos of random people acting like silly folk, and a wee glimpse of Vale's foot and tire.
Perhaps now that they know they are hurting the riders when they thump them, and if they could hear what vale is saying under that helmet, they might just stop doing it, unless they are going to keep going until there is no longer a race to go to??
I don't know, sorry to rant, but it's something that really annoys me, I can understand why they attempt to get to the riders, because getting close to the riders would be excellent (especially the podium because if I knew how to get there, then I would go too )...just cool your beans until the race is over, keep it safe! what harm will it do??
