Brivio pragmatic about Rossi error


The Fiat Yamaha team were able to take away plenty of positives from the British Grand Prix, despite Valentino Rossi’s Donington crash.



Such is the talent – and on this occasion good fortune – of World Champion Valentino Rossi, even a crash in the treacherous Sunday conditions experienced on the final visit to Donington Park were unable to hinder his 2009 title chase. The legendary Italian rider was dueling for the lead with compatriot and eventual race winner Andrea Dovizioso, on a wet-dry track in the tenth MotoGP contest of the year, when he hit the deck on lap 20 and subsequently picked up his partially damaged Yamaha M1 to eventually finish fifth and earn 11 more valuable points. For his team manager Davide Brivio is was easy to see the positives after Rossi missed the podium for just the second time in 2009, given the misfortunes of his main championship rivals. Brivio commented, “On one side we feel a little bit sorry not to have taken a better opportunity to win a race, but overall I think it is positive. The championship is our target and we have gained 11 points on our rivals, to lead by 25 now, so from that perspective it is a good day. If you think that we had to have two such hard battles in Barcelona and Sachsenring to gain ten points of advantage and we got 11 this time then we are happy,” he continued. Regarding the forthcoming visits to Brno, Indianapolis and Misano, Brivio stated, “Our first target is always just to finish on the podium so that we build up a good points total by the end of the year. They are all good tracks for us, where Valentino won last year, but we know that this year it is always more complicated. I think we are competitive though and this is very important.”

Rossi Snr. to make racing comeback







GRAZIANO ROSSI - father of eight-time motorcycle World Champion Valentino - is about to make a racing comeback - this time on a flattracker, rather than a road racing machine.
The former 500cc GP star is reported to be having a crack at the sideways stuff on some form of custom-built machine, dubbed the Ouroboros (the Greek name for a tail-devouring snake).


Good luck Graziano! You'll be easy to spot in that suit!
